Amadu Hammadu Qualifies for Free Tertiary Education for Persons with Disabilities
There is encouraging news regarding Amadu Hammadu, the brilliant but needy student with a disability from Dambai Senior High School who recently gained admission to study Pharmacy Technology.
Due to his condition, Amadu qualifies for the Free Tertiary Education for Persons with Disabilities initiative, which means he will not be required to pay school or hostel fees throughout the duration of his programme. This development has brought immense relief and renewed hope for his academic journey.
In addition to this support, a generous individual donated GH¢2,600 to assist him. Out of this amount, GH¢1,000 has already been used to cover his TNT transportation from a village in Kete Krachi to Navrongo. Notably, the single bag he carried represents all the belongings he was able to take with him to the university.
The remaining GH¢1,600 will be used to purchase a mattress and a few other essential items to help him settle into campus life.
At the moment, Amadu is staying in a temporary transit room, kindly arranged by the SRC President and another supportive student. This gesture of solidarity has been deeply appreciated.
Support is still needed in the form of basic items, including a laptop and a few decent clothes, to help Amadu fully adjust to his new academic environment.
The continued support and kindness shown towards Amadu Hammadu reaffirm the power of collective compassion. Every gesture, big or small, brings him one step closer to fulfilling his dream.
