Hon. Tangoba Abayage: The Power of Showing Kindness

Former Ghanaian Ambassador to Italy, Hon. Amb. Tangoba Abayage, has once again demonstrated her commitment to recognising and uplifting everyday acts of humanity.

Her recent social media post about a young China Mall staff member, Adiza, sparked widespread public admiration and conversations about kindness, service, and empathy. The post, which narrated two contrasting customer service experiences within the same shop, highlighted how individual character can shape human interactions in profound ways.

Hon. Amb. Tangoba Abayage is a seasoned diplomat, politician, educator, and gender advocate with a distinguished record of public service. She served as Ghana’s Ambassador to Italy and was concurrently accredited to Serbia, Slovenia, and Montenegro. She also represented Ghana to the Rome-based United Nations agencies, including the Food and Agriculture Organization, the World Food Programme, and the International Fund for Agricultural Development under the Nana Addo administration.

She later made history as the first female Regional Minister in the Upper East Region and subsequently served as Regional Minister, contributing to governance and development in the region. Her career has also spanned education, gender advocacy, and media, where she mentored young people and promoted social development initiatives.

Beyond her political and diplomatic roles, Hon. Abayage has been recognised for her philanthropic and educational contributions, including supporting schools, healthcare facilities, and vulnerable communities. Her commitment to social development reflects her belief in empowering individuals and celebrating human potential.
