A single act of courage and compassion by Madam Hellen, a midwife at the Sekesua Health Centre, has blossomed into a story of hope and generosity that will transform healthcare delivery for mothers and babies in the community.
Madam Hellen captured the hearts of many when she selflessly delivered a baby in the bush under difficult circumstances,an extraordinary display of dedication that exemplified the spirit of service within Ghana’s healthcare system. Her story, shared widely by Mr Adolf Nomo through the Krobo Support Group (KSG), caught the attention of the Dodobi Family, who were deeply moved and determined to help.
Motivated by Madam Hellen’s commitment, the Dodobi Family reached out to the Sekesua Health Centre to inquire about its most urgent needs. The facility responded with a list, highlighting the pressing need for a Haematology Analyser—a vital piece of equipment for maternal and neonatal care.
In an inspiring act of generosity, the Dodobi Family, led by Dr Samuel Dodobi Nar-Okunor, Chief Executive Officer of FocusPoint Diagnostics, donated a Mindray Haematology Analyser along with sets of reagents. They went even further, supplying several other essential medical devices, including:
- Handheld Pulse Oximeter – 1 piece
- Contec BP Monitor – 2 pieces
- Infrared Gun Thermometer – 5 pieces
- Rechargeable Fetal Doppler – 1 piece
- Non-Rechargeable Fetal Doppler – 1 piece
- Diagnostic Otoscope – 1 piece
- Vein Finder – 1 piece
- And other important accessories
Thanks to this remarkable gesture, expectant mothers and newborns in Sekesua will no longer have to travel long distances to Koforidua or to the Government Hospital for basic diagnostic services such as haemoglobin checks.
The management and staff of the Sekesua Health Centre have expressed profound gratitude to Dr Dodobi and the entire Dodobi Family for their thoughtful contribution, which will greatly enhance the quality of care delivered at the facility.
What began as a single act of compassion by Madam Hellen has now sparked a chain of blessings that will serve countless families for years to come, a true testament to how dedication in service can inspire change far beyond imagination.
