The Member of Parliament for Shai-Osudoku, Hon. Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo, has extended financial support of GH₵10,000 to three Saito girls from Dodowa Newtown D/A Basic School, following widespread public attention to their story.

The support was offered after a video of the girls went viral on social media, highlighting their academic brilliance despite the challenges associated with attending a less endowed school. The gesture was aimed at motivating the girls and reaffirming confidence in their educational potential.

Hon. Ocloo’s intervention forms part of broader efforts to support and encourage young talents within the constituency and beyond, particularly students whose circumstances may limit access to opportunities.

The public attention that brought the girls’ story to the fore was driven by social media influencer Nana Tea, who deliberately amplified their journey using his platform. His advocacy played a key role in drawing attention to the girls’ needs and abilities.

Credit also goes to Madam Deborah Crentsil, the teacher whose initiative ensured that the girls’ story reached the public. Her actions highlight the critical role educators play in advocating for students and bridging the gap between talent and opportunity.

For the three girls of Dodowa Newtown D/A Basic School, the support represents renewed encouragement and belief in their academic journey as they continue to pursue excellence with growing national backing.
